Mass on Campus
Come join us at Building 38 in the chapel to witness and partake in the pinnacle of a Catholic's life, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Chill n Chats
On Tuesdays, we gather in The Great Court for some snacks (occasional charcuterie boards) and games to take a break from study! It is a very laid back space to hang out with friends and enjoy some good fellowship over lunch.

Rosary
Come join us before Wednesday and Thursday masses to pray the Rosary! If you are unsure how to pray the Rosary, come along and there will be people to help guide you through the prayer. We will have a supply of Rosary beads for you to use, but feel free to BYO!!

Coffee and Catechesis
Come join us for a quick coffee run as we then delve into some entry level catechesis! We will be going deeper into topics of natural revelation, what it means to be Catholic and many more. It is perfect for those who have have questions or are wanting to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith.

Bible Study
Gather in the Great Court with your Bibles and some snacks! Read the Word of God and break it down together with your friends. Fellowship is the best when its based on the Word of God without doubt!

Theology on Tap
Come down to St Lucy's Cafe with us for an afternoon of faith discussion and development! We delve into the works of the saints and other great Catholic authors in their religious texts, book excerpts and commentaries. TOT is held weekly over hot chips and drinks.

Annual Recharge Retreat
After the long year of study, the Newman Society organises a 2-day retreat at beach held usually the week before SWOTVAC in Semester 2.
This is great chance to recharge not only your Catholic faith which may have been neglected during assessment periods, but also your energy levels in the lead up to exams. The days are filled with spiritual growth and relaxation by the beachside, its one of the finest events of the year!

Dance the night away with your new best mates from across Brisbane in October. Our Newman ball, re-surging in 2020 was an enormous hit. It is a great chance to pull out your ball gowns and suits for a lovely evening filled with food, dancing and photos! It is usually held in Semester 2, coinciding with the feast day of our patron saint, Saint John Henry Newman. |
Trivia Night
In Semester 1, we gather together a crowd of fun and somewhat trivia minded people from across Brisbane for a great night of fellowship and good-spirited competition.

At the end of Semester 1, we gather to hike up Mt Cootha, for a lovely day of spiritual nourishment and refreshment.

RECLAIM
The first Tuesday of every month, we gather at Reclaim, 19 Merivale Street, South Bank, for an epic night of formation, fellowship and food with the other Brisbane Universities. Young Adults reclaiming our Catholic faith!

We have recently opened our very own book depository! This contains quality works that cover many topics ranging from spiritual development to apologetics. Some authors included are St. Louis De Montfort, Scott Hahn and C.S. Lewis. Download the above pdf to view our depository, all members borrow free. |
